February  2002

Well he is walking and loving his new found freedom.  The other day he wondered out of the room. I could hear him  fussing and I said to him "Ian come here" - and he kept fussing so I went to see what was wrong & to my surprise he had climbed the stairs and was stuck!! He was standing up on to the railing on the landing. He had climbed three stairs.    I almost died. It took less then five minutes for me to put the gate up!  Good God! He learned fast. - Ian will be a year old next month.  Where has the time gone?  Crazy.  Maybe I am in denial that my baby will be a year old next month. :)

What a long - but short month.  Crazy - I did not take a lot of pictures? I wonder why?  We did lots of things and saw lots of friends. :)

Feb. 1 - During the day Ian and I went to the movies with Angie - We saw "Birthday Girl" * 1/2 - :( - Ian slept almost the whole time. :) What a good boy....

Feb. 2 -  Angie had a Birthday Tea Party for Liz, Gina & Me. :)  She went all out!  Gifts, decorations food and of course tea. - It was wonderful!  Way TOOOOO much food.  I think there was Over 27 items.  More then 20 handmade food items.  She is amazing.  It was so good!  Who knew she was such a great cook. :)  After the tea we played my favorite board game "Cranium" :) . It was a wonderful day.  I can not wait until her May Tea Party! THANKS ANGIE Mickel!!!

Feb. 6  - We went to Playgroup. - Then we meet Mike for Lunch.  - Mike went to the Laker game with Alan.

Feb. 7 - My dad came up and stayed.  My grandparents celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary today!  What an inspiration.  Two kids, three grand kids and four great-grandkids! Amazing!

Feb. 8 - Gina's birthday! :)  We went to her house for a little party and then we went over to the Durty Nelly (a local Irish pub)  it was Karaoke night!.  It was so very sad.  I had never been to Karaoke.  I thought it would be fun and crazy.  A bunch of drunk people singing fun songs.  Boy was I wrong.  It was a bunch of old people who never got their chance.  They were singing really serious songs.  Like they were auditioning!   Gina was fun and silly :) .  I did leave at 10 pm so maybe it got crazy after that!  ...
 

Feb. 9 -   10 - months old today!  How can it be. We went to JC Penny for his 10 month picture - he is standing! :)  -  then I had a "Orange Julius" and gave Ian a sip.  He loved it.  It gave him his first Brain Freeze.  We could not help but laugh.  But he wanted more.  Then he broke out into a rash.  Stupid me I forgot that they had milk stuff in it.  Ian got fussy and broke into a crazy red rash within minutes.  :( Yuck.  then we went over to Aunt Angie's for a little Valentine's  Photo session.     Then we walked around the block! I wish I had had my pedometer. :)

Feb. 10  - we went out to dinner with the Robidoux's.

Ian is walking now!  He does not even know it.  He just gets up in the middle of the room.  So cute.

Feb. 11 - Mike was on his way to play golf with his stepfather Bob and he got hit while getting on the freeway entrance. the other car saw the car in front of Mike move - so they moved.  Mike was at a stand still.  Needless to say Mike was very unhappy.  Thanks god.  He is a much better golfer then the people he was playing.  if he would have lost - he might have sued the poor dumb guy :(

Feb. 12 -Ian discovered the pleasures of fridge magnets today.

Feb. 13 - Playgroup at our house today! :)

Feb. 14 - Valentines day!  I took Ian to try out Gymborre today!  He loved it.  I was so surprised he was so tired .  but when we got there he was all over the place. climbing and crawling/walking/running.  It was so good for him.  Gymborre so silly and cheesy.

We went to Indian food for our Valentine's dinner.  Autumn & Michael and Ian & Angie.  Angie was his first date.  We always go to Indian for Valentines day.  They are rarely very busy. :)

Feb. 15 - Went to Gymborre again. and signed up for 3 months.  :)  - Went to the movies  with Angie. Saw "Iris" amazing! *** Judi Dench is just amazing. I highly recommend it. - I try and see all of the Oscar nominated movies.  but this year was hard.  I have not even see half of them.  Oh well. :)

Feb. 16 - Mike went with us to Gymborre.  Ian was so cute! - Then we headed down to SD. We stopped my mike's grandmothers house.  Mike's mom was also there. :) then we stayed the night at my moms.

Feb. - 17 - Took my mom and my sister Tracey to the Hash House A Go Go! :)   Yummmmmmmy! Michael went to visit his granddad in the hospital today.

Feb. 18 - today was a Holiday but poor Mike went to work! :(

Feb. 19 - My step-father John's 60th birthday!  WOW!!! - Ian had a doctors apt. he weighed 21.4 pounds.  Mike went to the Laker game.

Feb. 20 - Michael's Granddad -  Richard passed away today. :He was 80. :(.   Playgroup today - then we went to Gymborre.

Feb. 21 - We went to the Fullerton Arboretum  and saw some of our old friends from the Placentia Hospital. the other kids have really grown up so very fast.  - My dad came up again. :)

Feb. 22 -24-   Mike went down to SD to see his grandmother after work on Friday . -at 4pm Ian and I went to DISNEYLAND!!!!!!! My brother Cline and his wife Jean and Edie 7, Luke 5 and Erika 17,  came up for the whole weekend.  It was so much fun.  I even got to ride a few adult rides.   We just hung around the house on Saturday.  On Sunday we went to California Adventure.    My poor little nephew Luke was sick at California adventure and spent most of the day in the car being sick.  Poor baby. - We bought annual passes.  What a deal $99 for both parks. :)

Feb. 25 - Jena, Grantland and Liam came over for a little visit. :)

Feb. 26 -  Had lunch with a Denise Colby , a friend  who works at Avery with me.  My mom came up and stayed.  Ian had a runny nose. :(

Feb. 27 - Ian is so sick.  No playgroup. :(  Runny nose, cough, fever, and he was so congested. :(  Poor poor baby.  this is the first time he has ever been sick. :(

Feb. 28 - Granddad's funeral.  - Jason and Kari came down for the funeral  It was very nice.  He would have liked it.  Ian was so good during the funeral.  Granddad was in the Navy so there was a gun solute.  He did not even cry. he was upset that we were covering his ears   After the funeral  we all went to Mike's dads.  .
